Growth, capture and monetization for a leading sports project

MATCHAPP

THE OBJECTIVE:

With more than 1 million downloads and concurrence of up to 50,000 simultaneous users, Matchapp stands as the leading application in football and amateur sport in Spain. Our journey with its managers began years ago, when the project, incipient at that time, enters the phase of expansion and search for profitability.

OUR APPROACH:

Taking into account both objectives we draw up a strategy with two different aspects: Obtaining reach and downloads while increasing revenue through new sources of monetization, always without losing sight of the positive balance between CPA and average user ROI.

ASO optimization, identification of potential poles of attraction of traffic and downloads, implementation of growth hacking actions to promote viralization and implementation of header bidding actions to increase the average user income.

THE PROCESS:

We started by performing an ASO optimization exercise of the app in the different app stores. Keyword research, copy optimization, link building and launch of actions to increase ratings and reviews.

Definition and implementation of the engagement and viralization strategy: InApp Reviews, growth hacking actions and activation of social channels, linkbuilding and communication on third-party platforms.

Design of a complete stock of ads and audience segmentations under CPI model (cost per install) both in Google Ads and socially.

04.

Maying of a header bidding plan and optimization of the stock of ads and frequency of publication, aimed at increasing the average advertising CPM.

THE RESULT:

The project accumulates increases of 3 figures in terms of user acquisition during the first two years, maintaining double-digit growth at present. The implementation of pre-print auctions between different networks through header bidding enables increases in the average CPM generated of more than 70%.
